Stack's Bowers November 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 74195

This specimen was lot 74195 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "INDIA. 5 Paise, 1970-B. Bombay Mint. PCGS PROOF-66. Type 2 variety. Possessing dazzling argent surfaces, which are free from toning or any noticeable problems." This type was struck 1967-71 at Bombay (shown here), Calcutta and Hyderabad.

Recorded mintage: 39,900,000, a slightly better date.

Specification: 1.5 g, aluminum.
