Netherlands 2001 gulden KM-233
This specimen was struck at the Utrecht mint for the Netherlands along with the regular issue gulden (KM 205). Its circulating life was short as euros were already in production, to be implemented in 2002. Collector versions were struck in silver (KM 233a) and gold (KM 233b). The SCWC states that 98 of the 100 gold gold versions were melted down, with the remaining two in museum collections.
Recorded mintage: 16,009,000 in nickel plus 32,000 prooflike plus 360 in silver plus 100 in gold plus 6,414,500 of the regular KM 205.
Specification: KM 233: 6 g, nickel, 25 mm diameter; KM 233a: 7.1 g, 0.925 fine silver; KM 233b: 13.2 g, 0.999 fine gold. Designed by Geerten Verheus and Michael Raedecker (obverse) and Tim van Melis (reverse).
