This type was introduced in 1982 with the accession of queen Beatrix (1980-2013) to the throne of the Netherlands. The specification was unchanged from the issues of queen Juliana (KM 184a) but the design was modernized. To mark the final year of issue, silver and gold one gulden pieces were struck and sold to collectors.
Recorded mintage: 6,415,000 plus 200,000 proofs in silver and 25,000 proofs in gold (shown here).
Specification: (KM 205) 6 g, nickel; (KM 205a) 7.1 g, 0.925 fine silver; (KM 205b) 13.2 g, 0.999 fine gold, 25 mm diameter.
