This specimen was lot 50308 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $411. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 10 Dollars, 2002. Lunar Series, Year of the Horse. In original mint plastic capsule. GEM PROOF." Since 1989, Australia has entered the bullion and collectibles market in a big way, having produced commemoratives and NCLT's numbering the hundreds of types.
Recorded mintage: 500 proofs plus an unrecorded number of BU strikes.
