Sincona sale 85, lot 1169

This specimen was lot 1169 in Sincona sale 85 (Zurich, October 2023), where it sold for 28,000 CHF (about US$37,705 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Muhammad Ali Shah, 1324-1327 AH (1907-1909). 5000 Dinars 1326 AH (1908/1909 AD), Tehran Mint. Proof. Bust type. Reeded edge. Extremely rare. NGC PF63. Magnificent condition. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 198. Bought from J. Dilmaghani, Los Angeles, 1995."

This denomination was also struck in gold (Fr-79) and in silver with a lion obverse.

Specification: 23.03 g, 0.900 fine silver.
