Revision as of 14:54, 1 October 2023 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - " .900 fine" to " 0.900 fine")
This specimen was lot 20519 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "FUJAIRAH. 100 Riyals, 1971. PCGS PROOF-68 DEEP CAMEO. For the Apollo 14 mission to the moon. Mintage of 550 pieces. Attractively produced with exceptional cameo-like features." This state, part of the United Arab Emirates, issued a number NCLT's in 1969-71 on dubious authority and then ceased, probably when its contract with the actual mint that produced them ended.
Recorded mintage: 550.
Specification: 20.73 g, 0.900 fine gold.
Catalog reference: Fr-9; KM-25.
