This specimen was lot 797 in Aureo y Calicó sale 246 (Barcelona, September 2012), where it sold for 550 € (about $835 including buyer's fees). The catalog[1] noted,
"Carlos IV (1788-1808). 1792. Madrid. MF. 4 escudos. Leves rayitas. Precioso color. MBC+. (Charles IV (1788-1808), four escudos of 1792, Madrid mint, light scratches, nice color, very fine plus.)"
It is one of a series minted at Madrid 1788-1803 for Charles IV. The type is not cheap but quite a bit more available than the very rare eight escudos.
