This specimen was lot 55451 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1625-HL. Goslar or Zellerfeld Mint. Friedrich Ulrich. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1613-28 and is among the more common thalers of the period. This thaler, Dav-6303, was struck at Goslar and Zellerfeld while the very similar Dav-6306 was struck only at Clausthal. Duke Friedrich Ulrich ruled 1613-34.
