This type was issued 1777, 1780 and 1792-96 for Pius VI (1774-99) from the Rome mint and was one quarter of a testone or 7½ baiocchi. It is the last issue of this denomination and does not fit the quasidecimal system adopted in 1740 (ten baiocchi = one giulio, ten giulio = one scudo).

Specification: 2.3 g, 0.917 fine silver.
