This type was issued 1777-96 for Pius VI (1775-99) from the Rome mint. It is the last issue of this denomination and does not fit the quasidecimal system adopted in 1740 (ten baiocchi = one giulio, ten giulio = one scudo). Two carlini = half testone = fifteen baiocchi.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.6 g, 0.917 fine silver (actual weight varies, 4.24-5.65 g).
