Austria 1909 20 corona Fr-509
This specimen was lot 6020 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €6,500 (about US$8,399 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"KAISERREICH ÖSTERREICH, Franz Josef I. 1848-1916. 20 Kronen 1909, Wien. 6,10 g Feingold. GOLD. RR Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (empire of Austria, Francis Joseph, 1848-1916, twenty coronas of 1909, Vienna mint. Very rare, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1909-16. 1910 is the only common date. It varies from the prior Fr-508 by having the engraver's signature included and obverse legend uninterrupted.
