Stack's Bowers 2023 NYINC sale, lot 23095
SB0123-23095r.jpg

This specimen was lot 23095 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Kroner, 1693. Copenhagen Mint; mm: heart. Christian V. NGC VF-25. An always interesting and desirable type given the width and heft in relation to the diameter, this piece yields much charm. Despite some even circulation, this wonderful example is sure to fill a hole in the next collection it enters." Both this issue and the related KM 429/Dav-A3647 of 1693-95 are very rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 35.97 g, 0.833 fine silver. This specimen is 34.99 g.

Catalog reference: KM-A430; Dav-3647; Sieg-25; H-105.
