This specimen was lot 75432 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. Krone, 1908. Kongsberg Mint. Haakon VII. PCGS AU-58. Crossed hammers on shield variety. A well made near-Mint State example with russet toning and wear at only the highest points." This type was struck in moderate quantities 1908-17. It is fairly common in circulated condition altho the 1908 is a slightly better date.
Recorded mintage: 170,000 with a shield under the cross hammers and 180,000 without.
Specification: 7.5 g, 0.800 fine silver, 31 mm diameter.
