Stephen Album sale 43, lot 1379

This specimen was lot 1379 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $570. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY: Haakon VII, 1905-1957, AR krone, 1912, better date, stunning blast-white luster, PCGS graded MS63." This type is noted for 1908-17 but, despite the steady production, it is rather scarce. It is the last of the denomination struck in silver; its successor of 1925-51 (KM 385) was copper-nickel.

Recorded mintage: 200,000, a scarce date.

Specification: 7.5 g, 0.800 fine silver, .191 troy oz ASW, 31 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-369.
