Revision as of 08:08, 18 November 2022 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "Münzen" to "Münzen")
This specimen was lot 3151 in Sincona sale 47 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 450 CHF (about US$540 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND, Stadt und Kanton Zürich, 5 Schilling 1784. FDC. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (canton of Zurich, five schilling of 1784. Uncirculated, Magnificent condition.)"
This type was struck 1783-84 only and was the only issue of the denomination. In one part of the SCWC, 20 schilling = half gulden; in another part, one gulden = 36 schilling. We are baffled.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: billon, this specimen 2.72 g.
