This specimen was lot 31548 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $493.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Zurich. City 1/2 Taler 1788 MS64 NGC. Premium for the type with delicate luster over softly toned surfaces. Tied for the finest graded at NGC and perhaps the nicest we've seen, with the only comparable example we've encountered being an example sold by UBS in 2008 for 1,050 CHF hammer. From the Redwood Collection, Part II." This is a five year type issued 1783, 1786, 1788, 1794 and 1798.
