Zurich 1783 1/2 thaler

Sincona sale 47, lot 3150

This specimen was lot 3150 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 550 CHF (about US$660 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Stadt und Kanton Zürich, Halbtaler 1783. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. NGC MS62. (canton of Zürich, half thaler of 1783. Very rare in this condition, uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1783, 1786, 1788, 1794, 1798. Some come with, some without "B", and some come with, some without backwards "N" in "FEINE".

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 14.03 g, 0.833 fine silver.
