This specimen was lot 75296 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 3 Kopeks, 1868-EM. Ekaterinburg Mint. Alexander II. NGC MS-62 Brown. Well impressed and charming, this minor is sure to turn some heads with the desirous chocolate brown color." This type was struck 1867-76 and is one of the last issues of the Ekaterinburg mint. The St. Petersburg issue was reduced in weight to 8 g in 1867 and struck in that form until the end of the regime.
