from the Stack's Bowers October 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 70382

This specimen was lot 70382 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $95. The catalog description^[1] noted, "CHINA. 10 Yuan, 1994. Unicorn Series. PCGS MS-69. An attractive, technically near- perfect and prooflike coin with dark flashy fields and frosty raised devices." This NCLT inaugurated another long-running series of commemoratives in addition to the panda and Chinese zodiac programs already in process.

Recorded mintage: 50,000 + 4,000 proofs.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine silver.
