This specimen was lot 33867 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Lübeck. Free City Proof 2 Mark 1906-A PR65 NGC, Berlin mint, A boldly contrasted gem Proof that seems deserving of a cameo designation, pale lilac and sapphire hues gracing the surfaces." This type was struck intermittently 1904-1912. It is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 25,000 plus 200 proofs.

Specification: 11.11 g, .900 fine silver, 28 mm diameter, reeded edge.
