This specimen was lot 33868 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Lübeck. Free City Proof 2 Mark 1912-A PR67 PCGS, Berlin mint. Tied for the finest yet certified by PCGS and in all respects a near-flawless coin, flashy to the extreme and free of tone or haziness." This type was struck 1904-07, 1911-12. It is scarce.
Recorded mintage: 25,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, 28 mm diameter, reeded edge.
