The Netherlands was the last country to struck ducats on a regular basis. This modernized type was struck beginning in 1988 and sold to bullion investors. It is the first double ducat struck since a proof-only issue of 1857 (Sch-562). Similar single ducats exist.

Recorded mintage: 3,500 proofs.

Specification: 6.98 g, .986 fine gold, 26 mm diameter, reeded edge.
