Belize was formerly known as British Honduras. Great Britain expressed willingness to grant independence prior to 1981 but the English-speaking locals were nervous about occasional threats from Guatemala to invade and annex the territory. This specimen is one of a type struck for Belize 1976, 1979-83, 1986-2000.

Specification: 0.80 g, aluminum, 19.5 mm diameter, scalloped.
