Honan Province in the south east of China began coin production in 1647. A mint for struck coinage began operation in 1905.

The specimen shown was lot 60172 in Ponterio sale 162 (Hong Kong, August 2011), where it sold for $6572. The catalog description[1] noted, “CHINA. Hunan. Liang, ND (ca. 1906). 湖南官錢局造省平足紋壹兩。NGC MS-62.”

Recorded mintage: unknown.
