Stack's Bowers 2021 NYINC sale, lot 23312
SB121-23312r.jpg

This specimen was lot 23312 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $630. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 150 Dollars, 2013. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. Chinese Blessings series: Blessings of Peace. Featuring a stylized phoenix among the clouds, this brilliant Gem is at the pinnacle of the NGC population report, tied with just a small handful of others." The profits extracted from the manufacture and sale of NCLT's caused the Royal Canadian Mint to scramble for ever more arcane topics. This series, which ran 2009-16, was the first non-round coin issued by Canada.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 10.40 g, 0.999 fine gold, 22.5 mm diameter, 0.334 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: Fr-Unlisted; KM-1437.
