Austria 1955 10 schilling rev DSLR.jpg

This type was struck 1951-2001 and has little collector value except for some of the early proofs. This type was demonetized in 2002, with the coming of the euro. The old Hapsburg eagle clasped an orb and scepter, symbols of imperial power; the republican eagle holds a hammer and sickle, symbols of the hard work needed to rebuild from the disaster of World War Two.

Recorded mintage: 51,707,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 1.1 g, aluminum, 19.8 mm diameter, plain edge.

Catalog reference: KM 2878.
