The specimen shown is a half real struck at the Lima mint in 1836 for the short-lived state of North Peru. It is described as an overdate, which is not listed in the SCWC. The state of North Peru was a result of civil conflict, which saw the southern part of the country split away and unite briefly with Bolivia. The country was reunited in 1839. Two reales and 8 reales were also issued for Estado Nor-Peruano. This specimen was lot 24619 in Heritage sale 3014, where it sold for $322.
