This specimen was lot 46783 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it did not
sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. 5000 Dinars, SH 1306 (1927)-L. St.
Petersburg (Leningrad) Mint. Ahmad Shah. PCGS AU-58." This type was struck SH1306-1308 but is seldom seen. SH = Solar Hegira calendar. The "L" minmark was for London, not Leningrad.
Recorded mintage: 3,000,000 plus 4,711,000 from Heaton (mintmark "H").
Specification: 23.02 g, 0.900 fine silver.
