This specimen was lot 54024 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $4,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 500 Dollars, 2016-P. Perth Mint. Elizabeth II. GEM PROOF. Kimberley Sunrise type, with inset diamond. An enthralling gold issue, this radiant specimen dazzles with majestic brilliance and a sparkling nature emanating from the inset stone, representing the rising sun. Includes original packaging of issue, as well as certificate of authenticity."
