Revision as of 13:11, 20 June 2025 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "Zurich:" to "Zürich:")
This specimen was lot 1948 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 150 (about US$198 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"5 Mark 1908. München. Sehr schön-gutes sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Meiningen, five mark of 1908, Munich mint, very fine to good very fine.)"
This is perhaps the most common of the few five mark issued by the duke. The gold issues of this locale are also scanty and rare.
Recorded mintage: 60,000.
Specification: 27.77 g, 0.900 fine silver, 38 mm diameter, lettered edge, this specimen 27.70 g.
