Sincona sale 63, lot 2676

This specimen was lot 2676 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 105 CHF (about US$132 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"EDELMETALL-AUKTION | NIUE, 100 Dollars 1988. Steffi Graf. Goldmedallist 24th Olympics Seoul 1988. Grand Slam 1988. Feingewicht total: 155.36 Gramm. FDC. In Originalschachtel mit Zertifikat. (republic of Niue, one hundred dollars of 1988, for Steffi Graf, gold medallist at the 24th Olympics at Seoul and Grand Slam champion. Uncirculated, In original box with certificate.)"

Ms. Graf has appeared on other NCLT's of this impoverished Pacific island, including copper nickel five dollars (KM 5, KM 11, KM 67), silver fifty dollars (KM 6, 13, 44), silver hundred dollars (KM 7, 28, 77), gold 250 dollars (KM 10, 48). One hopes she was paid a royalty.

Recorded mintage: 3,000.

Specification: 155.52 g, 0.999 fine silver, 65 mm diameter.
