Revision as of 14:32, 1 November 2024 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "* 1773 2 reales" to "* 1773 cob 2 reales * 1773 portrait 2 reales")
This type was struck in Bolivia 1773-89 and is common in circulated condition. Overdates are noted for many years but not this one. Harris[1] notes that Potosi eight reales of Charles III are the second commonest mint after Mexico City. Recent hoard finds have only increased this number. This date is priced about double the common date (1775 or 1781). Assayer JR is recorded for 1767-78.
