Sincona sale 97, lot 2040

This specimen was lot 2040 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$725 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Ferdinand I. 1835-1848. Dukat 1837, Wien. Vorzüglich. (empire of Austria, Ferdinand I, 1835-48, ducat of 1837, Vienna mint. Extremely Fine.)"

This type was struck 1837-48 in substantial numbers from Vienna (shown here), Kremnitz, Karlsburg and Venice.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.46 g.
