This specimen was lot 70404 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "DOMINICA. 10 Dollars, 1979-CHI. Valcambi Mint. PCGS PROOF-66 Deep Cameo. Commemorating the visit of Pope John Paul II. A charming issue presenting the effigies of two of the most famous people in the world at the time--the aforementioned head of the Catholic Church and Queen Elizabeth II." Dominican coinage is scanty and is comprised solely of Non Circulating Legal Tender commemoratives. This was minted at the Valcambi mint in Switzerland, along with a gold 300 dollars (KM 19).

Recorded mintage: 1,150 + 3,450 proofs.

Specification: 20.50 g, 0.925 fine silver.
