Sincona sale 54, lot 982

This specimen was lot 982 in Sincona sale 54 (Zürich, May 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Rudolf II. 1576-1612. Dukat 1608, Wien. Münzmeister Andreas Händl. Sehr selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Rand etwas bearbeitet. (Holy Roman Empire, Rudolf II, 1576-1612, ducat of 1608, Vienna mint. Very rare, Very fine-extremely fine, Edge slightly tooled.)"

Friedberg lists this type from Vienna for 1577-1618 and from Prague (Fr-88) for 1594-1611.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.42 g.
