This specimen was lot 2545 in Jean Elsen sale 160 (Brussels, November 2024), where it sold for €650 (about US$823 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, ZEELAND, De Staten in opstand (1572-1581), AR rijksdaalder van stad Aken, 1570. Met titel van Maximiliaan II en klop Zeeuws wapen in parelrand. Vz/ Gehelmd stadswapen gehouden door een griffioen en een leuw. Kz/ Gekroonde rijksarend. van Gelder. Uiterst zeldzaam. Korrosiesporen. Zeer Fraai. Afkomstig van Laurens Schulman, 2017. (Netherlands, Zeeland, States Revolt of 1572-81, Aachen silver thaler of 1570, struck in the name of Maximilian I counterstamped with the Zeeland arms in a pearled border. Obverse: helmeted arms supported by a griffin and a lion; reverse: crowned imperial eagle. Extremely rare, spots of corrosion, very fine.)"
The host coin was struck 1568-71 along with a half thaler (KM MB7) and a double thaler (Dav-8901).
