This specimen was lot 1642 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 28 (Winter Park, FL, November 2020), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "Santiago, Chile, 1 peso, 1873. VF with lightly wiped surfaces." This scarce type was struck 1867 and 1873 only.

Reported Mintage: 16,000.

Specification: 1.52 g, 0.900 fine gold, this specimen 1.45 grams.
