Sincona sale 59, lot 2305

This specimen was lot 2305 in Sincona sale 59 (Zürich, October 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"OSMANISCHES REICH | Mustafâ IV., 1222-1223 H./1807-1808 AD, 1/4 Findik 1222 H./Jahr 2, Qustantînîya (Konstantinopel/Istanbul). Große Tughra mit Bume in Linien- und Perlkreis, Rv. Mzst. und Anfangsjahr der Regierung, oben Regierungsjahr. Sehr schön. (Turkey, Mustafa IV, 1807-08, quarter findik of AH 1222, year 2, Constantinople mint. Obverse: large toughra with blooms in pearled circle; reverse: mintmark and date. Very fine.)"

The gold was the victim of frequent manipulation and the denominations changed names in a confusing manner. Recorded mintage: unknown.
