This specimen is one of a type struck at the Franklin Mint for the Bahamas 1971-73. In 1974 the bust of the queen was dropped in favor of the arms of the Bahamas. The Franklin Mint produced this denomination 1971-85. The bonefish reverse makes this coin a popular souvenir for sunburned tourists.
Recorded mintage: 13,000 plus 31,000 proofs.
Specification: 5.54 g, copper-nickel, 23.5 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 18.
