Sincona sale 95, lot 4487

This specimen was lot 4487 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$416 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, Stadt und Kanton, Groschen 1579, St. Gallen. Münzzeichen: Vierspeichiges Mühlenrad, dem Münzmeister Konrad Gmünder zugeschrieben. Sehr selten. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, city and canton of St. Gall, groschen of 1579, St. Gall mint. Very rare, Very Fine. Mintmark: Four-spoked mill wheel, attributed to the mint master Konrad Gmünder.)"

This type is not mentioned in the SCWC or Numista although this sale included a groschen of 1580.
