This specimen was lot 4484 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,772 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ St. Gallen, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1566, St. Gallen. Selten. Sehr schön. Einzelne Kratzer. (Switzerland, city and canton of St. Gall, St. Gall mint. Rare, Very Fine, Some scratches.)"
Davenport notes this type for 1563-67. Varieties include a large bear (Dav-8792B, struck 1567 only); other varieties have a silly eagle (Dav-8792A) or two digit dates (Dav-8792C).
