This specimen was lot 3033 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 16,500 CHF (about US$22,082 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "House of Savoy / Sardinia, Vittorio Emanuele I. 1802-1821. 20 Lire 1821, Torino. Umschriftvariante "PRINC PED....". Äusserst selten. Gutes sehr schön (Extremely rare, Good very fine)." When Vittorio Emanuele was restored to his throne in Turin by the Congress of Vienna, his first gold issue was some rare gold doppie of prerevolutionary type (KM 112).
