This specimen was lot 2939 in Sincona sale 23 (Zürich, May 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Königreich der Niederlande, Wilhelm I. 1815-1840 10 Gulden 1839. Utrecht. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (kingdom of the Netherlands, William I (1815-40), ten gulden of 1839, Utrecht mint, extremely fine or better.)"
This type was struck 1818-40 at Utrecht. The common dates are 1824-B, 1825-B and 1840; the rest are scarce to rare. The contemporary French gold twenty francs was 6.45 g.
Recorded mintage: 326,404.
Specification: 6.73 g, 0.900 fine gold, .194 troy oz AGW, 22.5 mm diameter. This specimen 6.72 g.
