This specimen is lot 1412 in UBS sale 84 (Basel, January 2010). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR/ÖSTERREICH. Erzherzog Ferdinand Karl, 1632-1662. Halbtaler 1654, Hall. Geharnischtes Brustbild mit langen Haaren nach rechts, davor im Feld die Jahreszahl. Rv. Gekröntes Wappen, umgeben von der Vliesordenskette. Patina. Vorzüglich." (Austria, archduke Ferdinand Karl, 1632-62, half thaler of 1654, Hall mint. Obv: armored bust with long hair facing right, date in right obverse field. Rev: crowned arms with Order of the Golden Fleece. Nice patina, extremely fine).
This type was struck the one year only and was accompanied by a quarter thaler with the archduke's portrait.
