This type was struck 1867-80 in Santiago, Chile, in 0.835 fine silver. The series immediately prior (KM 136.1, 1864-1866) was at 0.900 fine silver, while the following series (KM 136.3, 1879-1894) was struck on planchets of even lower fineness (0.500 fine silver). All three series show the same obverse and reverse design, shared with the half décimo, twenty centavos and silver peso. Overdates 1873/2, 1873/8 and 1873/9 are reported for the year.

Recorded mintage: 305,000.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, 18 mm diameter.
