This penny is part of a new design series struck 2008-15. In a break with conventional coin design, the reverse design (the arms of Great Britain) are spread over all the denominations (one penny thru fifty pence) rather than each coin receiving its own reverse. The portrait of the queen remained unaltered.

Recorded mintage: 421,002,000.

Specification: 3.59 g, copper-plated steel, 20.34 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-1107.
