This specimen was lot 451 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €15,000 (about US$19,460 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DÄNEMARK, KÖNIGREICH, Christian VII. 1766-1808. Albertsdaler 1784, Altona. MONETA NOV · ARG · REGIS DANIÆ · Wilder Mann steht v. v. mit Keule in der rechten Hand hinter gekröntem Wappenschild//GLORIA EX AMORE PATRIÆ Gekröntes Wappen, zu den Seiten die geteilte Jahreszahl 17 - 84. . In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 63 (Top Pop) (5790008-042). Sehr seltener Jahrgang in außergewöhnlicher Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (kingdom of Denmark, Christian VII, 1766-1808, albeertus daler of 1784, Altona mint. Obverse: a wild man with club supports the crowned arms of Denmark; reverse: crowned arms of Norway divide the date. Graded NGC MS63. Very rare date in outstanding condition, choice example, handsome patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1781, 1784 and 1786. All are scarce but the 1784 is rare. It was intended for foreign trade and was struck to a different weight than the regular specie daler (Dav-1308).
