Sweden 1941-G krona

from the Stack's Bowers 2024 ANA sale, lot 47733

This specimen was lot 47733 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Krona, 1941 G. Gustaf V. NGC MS-64." This type was struck 1924-42 and this date is common in all grades. In 1942, the coin was reduced to 7 g, 0.400 fine silver, and struck in that form until 1968, when silver was removed completely. The two kronor underwent a similar process.

Recorded mintage: 2,183,338 including a 1941/4 overdate.

Specification: 7.50 g, 0.800 fine silver, 25 mm diameter, reeded edge.
