The first specimen was lot 13398 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $999. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. Groat, ND (1526-39). NGC VF-35. James V (1513-42). From the Demarete Collection." The second specimen was lot 1051 in Jean Elsen sale 148 (Brussels, September 2021), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,205 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"GRANDE-BRETAGNE, ECOSSE, Jacques V (1513-1542), AR groat, s.d. (1526-1539). 2e monnayage. Type III. D/ B. cour. à d. R/ Ecu arrondi posé sur une croix. Très Beau. (Great Britain, kingdom of Scotland, James V, 1513-42, undated silver groat, second coinage, type III. Obverse: crowned bust right; reverse: round bottomed arms charged on a cross. Very Fine.)"
