The first specimen was lot 7297 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $264.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hesse-Cassel. Taler, 1766. Friedrich II (1760-1785). VERY FINE." The second specimen was lot 898 in Sincona sale 11 (Zurich, May 2013), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$371 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[2] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Hessen-Kassel, Landgrafschaft, Friedrich II. 1760-1785. Konventionstaler 1766, Kassel. Kl. Schrötlingsf. Patina. Gutes sehr schön. (Germany, landgraviate of Hesse-Kassel, Frederick II (1760-85), convention thaler of 1766, Kassel mint. Scratches, toned, good very fine.)"

The SCWC lists this one-year type as rather scarce.
